What we do

With and by the girls themselves, the 10,000 Girls program has developed techniques for independent study, a peer education network, and a parental support system. In a simple list, our educational program activities include
  • Monitored after-school homework preparation
  • Individual in-school follow-up
  • Individual at-home follow-up
  • Peer support and review
  • Monthly teamwork preparation
  • Bi-monthly parent support meeting

How we evaluate

Each participant is evaluated monthly by her public school teachers, parents, after school monitors and instructors. We have both monthly and annual evaluations.
Monthly evaluation criteria
  1. School attendance
  2. Homework completion
  3. Home task assignments
  4. After school program attendance and (when relevant) entrepreneurial participation and training
Annual evaluation criteria
  1. The number of girls who passed their classes and progressed to the next level
  2. The number of girls who trained in entrepreneurial pursuits
  3. The number of parents active in our familial support network
  4. The red or black in our financial statement
